This decision document defines the high-level revenue models for ConnectSoft's marketplaces: Template/Agent marketplaces (developer-facing) and SaaS & vertical solution marketplace. It is written for executives, product managers, and stakeholders planning marketplace strategy.

Decision

Marketplace revenue models: (1) Template/Agent marketplaces: revenue share with contributors, subscription access, (2) SaaS & Solution marketplace: SaaS product listings, vertical solution bundles, commission-based. Both enable ecosystem growth and partner revenue.

Context

ConnectSoft is building multiple marketplaces (Template, Agent, SaaS & Solution) as part of Cycle 4 ecosystem expansion. We need to establish revenue models for these marketplaces to enable sustainable growth and partner participation.

The question: What revenue models should we use for Template/Agent marketplaces (developer-facing) and SaaS & vertical solution marketplace?

Decision

Marketplace revenue models:

Template/Agent Marketplaces (Developer-Facing):

  • Revenue Share - Revenue share with template/agent contributors (e.g., 70/30 split)
  • Subscription Access - Subscription tiers for marketplace access
  • Premium Listings - Premium listing options for featured templates/agents

SaaS & Solution Marketplace:

  • SaaS Product Listings - SaaS products listed on connectsoft.io with subscription billing
  • Vertical Solution Bundles - Vertical solution bundles with bundled pricing
  • Commission-Based - Commission on SaaS product subscriptions (if applicable)

Rationale

  • Revenue Share: Incentivizes partner contributions and ecosystem growth
  • Subscription Access: Provides recurring revenue and access control
  • SaaS Listings: Enables SaaS product discovery and subscription
  • Vertical Bundles: Creates value through bundled solutions
  • Commission Model: Aligns incentives for marketplace growth
